Ms. White directed, produced and wrote the award-winning, independent feature documentary, IF I COULD, generated by her earlier film for CBS, THE WAGON TRAIN TRIAL. IF I COULD, narrated by two-time Academy Award winner, Sally Field, follows a woman's story of survival for over 20 years and will air on the DISCOVERY HEALTH CHANNEL in 2005. It was awarded the CINE Golden Eagle Award, a Christopher Columbus Award, the New York Film and Video Festival Award and audience award from the Seattle Film Festival and WinFemme Film Festival.
As an independent producer, Ms. White wrote and produced the PBS documentary, MENDING HEARTS, narrated by Christopher Reeve, which explores the lives of people living with AIDS. The film won the CINE Golden Eagle Award. Ms. White wrote and produced AMERICA AT RISK: SEEDS OF HOPE for Turner Broadcasting and the Tribune Co. that focused on an abandoned generation of youth, drug and alcohol abuse and the breakdown of the American family. This hard-hitting and gutsy film brought national attention, to this important issue. It earned Ms. White the Ohio State Award for Excellence in Broadcast Journalism, the Christopher Columbus Award and the Beacon of Hope Award. Ms. White has also produced and written segments for Tony Danza's young adult show, GETTIN' OVER, on ABC.
Throughout 1995, 1996 and 1997, Ms. White produced a six-part series of documentary/entertainment specials for LIFETIME television network. Ms. White has also co-written a CBS television movie, MY VERY BEST FRIEND, produced by the Fred Silverman Company/Viacom,
Ms. White, and her company FILMSTERS, has produced several films for the Turner Original Productions series, WILD! LIFE ADVENTURES for TBS, in association with the National Wildlife Federation. These included the Cable ACE award-nominated SURVIVAL OF THE YELLOWSTONE WOLVES and THE GREAT BISON CHASE, which was a finalist at the 1998 Missoula Wildlife Film Festival.
Ms. White has just completed her third season as Senior Producer of the ABC hit show Extreme Makeover. She founded FILMSTERS Academy with Ms. Anderson in 2001, a summer film camp for kids 11-18 that teaches them about filmmaking.
